Our engagement and unofficial wedding.

Our engagement happened in April 2010 when Freddy and I went to Chicago for a weekend trip. The only pictures we have from that trip is from the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower...why they changed the name is beyond me).
Us with the Chicago skyline...yep we are standing in front of a back drop!
At the Willis Tower they have these glass bottom protrusions you can stand on and look down at the city. I think we were both more than a little afraid to stand there for this picture and I did my best not to look down.
At the top of the Willis Tower. DON'T LOOK DOWN!
I will preface the official marriage with the story of how Freddy and I ended but getting married in India. Yep you read that correctly were we unofficially married in February 2009 when we went to India for another wedding. We decide had decided to travel from Delhi to Bangalore and Mysore in the South to visit Freddy's family.

Freddy and Me with his family.
The program for one of the days was to visit the Chamundeeswari Temple on Chamundi Hills in Mysore. It is a beautiful temple dedicated to Chamundeeswari a god who vanquished the demon Mahishasuran. It is a must see for anyone traveling to Mysore.

Chamundeeswari Temple in Mysore
Us in front of the Statue of Mahishasuran...yes the elderly gentlemen is staring, most likely at me! It is something that cannot be avoided if you are fair skinned and visiting India.
Of course if you are going to visit a temple in India you should walk through the temple and as we did Freddy's Aunt decided to ask the Priest if he would very quickly marry us and he happily obliged. Freddy and I had absolutely no idea what was happening we were simply soaking in the scenery and it was very crowded inside the temple.

After exiting the temple Freddy's Aunt bought what she told us were wedding cookies...really Laddu an Indian sweet. I didn't think much of it at the time just that it was weird someone was selling wedding cookies outside the temple. As we continued to walk around outside the temple Freddy's Aunt told us how happy she was to witness our marriage.

We looked at each other and asked what had happened. The only explanation is that we had an Indian-style shotgun wedding without the shotgun of course. I had only meet Freddy's family this one time and they immediately accepted my into their family it was truly wonderful.
Post wedding picture...yep we have no idea what just happened otherwise our pose may be different.
